Glasgow firefighters were called to the scene of a house fire Thursday at 111 Sunset Ave. around 10:30 p.m.
Firefighters who arrived first on the scene reported light smoke coming from the attic area. They located and extinguished a fire in a rear bedroom within 10 minutes of their arrival, according to a Glasgow Fire Department press release.
Debbie Carroll is the owner and occupant, but she was not home at the time of the fire.
The fire has been determined to be accidental and electrical in nature. Damage to the house is estimated to be $15,000, the press release stated.
Responding to the fire along with the firefighters were personnel with the Barren-Metcalfe County EMS and Glasgow Electric Plant Board.
Firefighters were on the scene for about an hour and 30 minutes.
